We’re United For WA

Our candidates are workplace delegates, union activists, and everyday members who share one thing in common: a commitment to building a stronger union for you.

Western Australia South

These are the delegates, members and activists who are standing up for UWU members across Western Australia South. They come from your workplaces and your industries. They know the challenges you face because they face them too.

They're ready to fight for a union that wins for you, picks up the phone when you need help, and puts more money in your pocket.

Meet Your Team

Ivo Letica

Patient Care Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been an UWU member for 22 years, and I work at Fremantle Hospital as a Patient Care Assistant. I serve as a workplace delegate, which means my days are spent not just caring for patients but standing up for my workmates when they need it. I first joined the union after my very first job, which wasn't unionised. Once I got a job that was, I quickly understood what I'd been missing out on — not just decent pay, but the conditions that go with it. To me, being a union member means knowing that collectively we are stronger. No one is born better than any of our members. This country gave the world the eight-hour working day, and that wasn't handed to anyone — it was fought for. The union is protection from exploitation and a real counter to the greed that exists in our society. Outside work, I love to travel, do quizzes, and watch a variety of sports — always supporting the only team better than the Dockers, the South Fremantle Bulldogs. One thing I want members to know about me is that I am extremely determined about our cause of social justice.

  • here's a moment that stays with me. We had a tyrant manager running patient support services at Fremantle Hospital who was sacking workers for speaking up about safety. When the Health Minister came to Fremantle to give a presentation in front of 200 people and asked for questions, I raised the cleaners' sackings in that room. It went silent. But a follow-up private meeting resulted in that manager's removal. Two weeks later, a PSA said to me, "It's so much better now — I don't have to look over my shoulder." That's what the union can do. I'm standing for election because I'm proud of my workmates, I've been through many EBA negotiations on their behalf, and I've always sought a fair outcome for all. This state, this public sector, and public health need proactive people who put outcomes and community before profits and privatisation. I'm supporting United For You because our ticket seeks to preserve the support and reach of the union for every member, whether they're in a large workplace or a small one. Our own union has government ministers as members, so issues can be raised and resolved directly — as happened in my case at Fremantle Hospital. These things are at stake, because others do not hold them as core UWU values.

Cindy Logan

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for over ten years, and I work at Woodland Grove Primary School as a Special Needs Education Assistant in an intervention role. I currently serve as a workplace delegate. I first joined the union to gain permanency in my role as an Education Assistant, and since then I've never looked back. To me, being a union member means standing together to secure fair pay and fighting for our working conditions. I have three children and I'm a proud Grams to Chase (14), Luna (8), Billie (8 months), and twins Romy and Cleo (6 months). I spend a lot of time with my grandies and love to sew, read, and garden. I can sometimes be a hermit, but I enjoy eating out, spending time with friends, and I'd like to travel more. The one thing I want members to know about me is that I am honest and hardworking. I will always advocate for better pay and working conditions for all members. I love what I do and I want to be able to continue to do it.

  • The pay rise we secured in the latest round of bargaining has made a huge difference to many of my workmates, and I've seen firsthand what happens when members stand together. I've participated several times in EBA bargaining and even spoke in front of Parliament House at a wages rally. That hard work by the union and members got us a pay rise that was significant — though of course we know there is still more to do. I'm standing for this election because I want to help make sure we continue to strengthen the union and work together to support all our members. My workplace is very supportive, and I want to increase our membership and help improve conditions more broadly — I'm also supporting friends at my previous school who are still working toward better conditions there. I grew up in a labour and union family, so joining the union felt natural from the time I was 16, and I have always been a member since. Delegates rarely get the chance to catch up in person, so the convention is a real opportunity to spend time with fellow WA delegates and organisers, to share knowledge and stories, and to learn from others. United For You is the future for a stronger and better union for members. There is no other choice.

Aidan Brettner

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I joined the union because I believe in industrial action and the power of numbers. Being in the union means I have backup when I need it. To me, being a union member means being there for other members and fighting for our rights collectively. I am a proud Kuku-Yalanji Murri man. My nan was stolen. I have a wife and two children, one of whom is non-verbal autistic. I love spending time with my kids and playing video games when time permits. The one thing I want members to know about me is that I care deeply and strongly about members being able to access the support they need, when they need it.

  • A moment that really showed me what the union can do was when I was asked to sit on the committee responsible for fighting for career pathways for AIEOs. We now have two new roles alongside the base AIEO role, more clarity on our JDF, and solid movement toward bringing ratios back. I'm standing for election because I want to help build a stronger union and help my colleagues be represented. I didn't see a lot of representation of Mob growing up, so being that representation is important to me. This term I'm hoping to continue fighting for the reintroduction of ratios — a minimum of one AIEA in every school, with more depending on the size of the community within the school. Unions are built by their members and so should serve their members. I believe only the United For You ticket has that interest in mind.

Delma Panhuyzen

Disability Support Worker | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 17 years, and I work at Genu in the disability sector as a Support Worker. My current union roles include Member Council, GRFC, National Leaders in Disability, and State Leaders in Disability. Outside work, I enjoy Westcoast Eagles, copper work, and getting to the sport. I am committed and passionate about making sure we have a union we can work with — one with integrity that exists for members into the future.

  • I want to build a stronger member rights team — someone on the other end of the phone to help when you are at your most vulnerable at work. I want to use political power to lobby government on the NDIS for workers, and to make sure workers in disability have safe, secure, and respected jobs. I'm supporting United For You because of financial accountability and integrity. We are funded by government and we need to use different ways to fight for better conditions for members. Fighting for members politically, always putting members first, and finding new ways to get results — that is what United For You stands for, and why I'm on this ticket.

Laura Cripps

Enrolled Nurse | Western Australia South

  • I work at Aegis Shoalwater in aged care as an Enrolled Nurse. My current union roles include Member Council and Delegate. I joined the union because my boss was not supportive and changes were needed. To me, being a union member means standing up for people in my workplace and being the voice to change things for the better for working people. Outside of work I'm an AFL-fanatic, go Oscar! I will take on your battles for you.

  • The aged care strike, the aged care reforms, and the aged care pay rises all showed me what this union can achieve when it fights hard. I'm standing for election because I want fairness within every sector our union covers, and to think hard about what's best in EBAs and everything else. This term I want better working conditions and pay rises. I'm supporting United For You because they know how to run a modern union that wins.

Darren Thomason

Patient Care Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 24 years, and I work at Bunbury Hospital as a Patient Care Assistant. I currently serve as a Union Delegate. I joined the union because I wanted to see fairness in the workplace, and that's still what it means to me — fairness for all. Outside work, I focus on taking care of my partner due to her disability, and I'm working on improving my guitar skills. The one thing I want members to know about me is that I am available to them when needed.

  • While working at PMH I helped a worker get permanency in their position, and that moment showed me what it means to have union support when it counts. I'm standing for election because I want to be a strong voice for all members in the union. What I want to achieve this term is a resolution to the constant short-staffing issue throughout the hospitals — this is a problem that affects workers and patients alike, and it needs to be addressed. I'm supporting United For You to support our state secretary and to achieve better outcomes for members.

Jane Plant

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 20 years, and I work at Flinders Park Primary School in WA as a Mainstream Education Assistant. I currently serve as a workplace delegate. I first joined the union to gain permanency in my role as an Education Assistant, and being a member has meant so much since. To me, being a union member means standing together to help secure fair pay and working to fight for our working conditions. I'm a mother of two boys, now grown up. I love the beach and photography, and I also do lots of different crafts. The one thing I want members to know about me is that I will speak up and support causes that will help members financially and with workplace conditions.

  • The pay rise we secured in the latest round of bargaining has made a huge difference to many of my workmates, and that is the union delivering for members. I'm standing for election as a convention delegate to make sure we continue to strengthen and work together in our union and to support all our members. This term, we still need to look at the wages and conditions facing Education Assistants, and I want to help achieve that. I'm supporting United For You to make sure our union strengthens and supports our members.

Adrian Durie

Member Rights Officer | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 14 years, and I work at the UWU Perth Office as a Member Recruitment Officer. I believe in unionism and workers standing together to protect each other's rights. To me, being a union member means people committing to help look after each other. Outside work, I've been married for 11 years with two kids aged 10 and 5. I love spending time with my family and friends, and I enjoy warm weather, playing sport, and watching sport. The one thing I want members to know about me is that this election matters. Members continuing to be the winners depends on a union focused on service and delivery, and I want people to understand what's at stake.

  • Winning more than a 15% pay increase over three years in the last round of EBA bargaining showed me what members can achieve when the union is fighting hard for them. I'm standing for election because I want to help ensure my fellow members are continued to be looked after in a way that is far-reaching, accessible, successful, and sustainable. What I want to achieve this term is security — security in the knowledge that our union is ethical and responsible in how member funds and resources are used and allocated. United For You has a genuine record of integrity and delivering wins for UWU members, and that's why I'm proud to support this ticket.

Jessica Rodriguez

Educator, ECEC | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for one year, and I work at Wildflower Lake Coogee as a Room Leader in early childhood education and care. I am a single mum from South America who moved to Australia to build a better future. I have been teaching since I was 20 years old. I originally came to Australia to study and learn about different teaching methods, but I continued working in education because I care deeply about children and their future. I first joined the union after a very difficult experience. I was being sponsored by my employer at the time and felt very vulnerable at work. For a long time I accepted poor treatment and tried to keep my head down because I was worried about losing my job and my visa. Eventually the situation became too much and I was unfairly dismissed. That experience showed me how important it is for workers, especially migrant workers tied to their employer through sponsorship, to have the protection and support of a union. Being a member means feeling protected and supported at work. It gives me confidence that if something doesn't feel right, I can ask for advice and have someone on my side. It keeps me informed about wages, conditions, and my entitlements, and it makes me feel less alone and more empowered to speak up.

  • Seeing what the union won for early childhood educators, including the wage increases and changes to the "under the roof" ratios that ensure centres have the right number of educators working directly with children, showed me that the union doesn't just protect workers when something goes wrong. It fights for real improvements in our jobs and our pay. That matters deeply to me. I'm standing for election because I want to make sure workers' voices are heard and protected. My own experience showed me how vulnerable workers can feel, and I want to play my part in making sure our union stays strong, united, and always fighting for workers. I am proud to be part of United For You, a strategic, smart and focused team committed to continuing to deliver real wins for members.

Rosemarie Limbo

Food Service Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 11 years, and I work at Fiona Stanley Hospital as a Food Service Assistant. I currently serve as a workplace delegate. I joined the union because it supports workers' rights, and I found that out firsthand when I had some bullying issues at work. The union really did help and support me through that time. Being a union member means a great deal to me. That's why I stepped up to become a delegate, so I can help my fellow union members with everything union-related. I love supporting my colleagues at work, whether it's with issues or being a support person in meetings. I have three grown-up children and a loving husband. I'm a member of a church community through Couples for Christ, and I love going out with friends and workmates. One thing I want members to know about me is that I'm a dedicated delegate who is ready to help and support our union members.

  • The moment that made a real difference for me and my workmates was when we walked out together and went to rally for our pay rise. That collective action showed me what we can achieve when we stand as one. I'm standing for election as a convention delegate so I can be my workmates' voice, and be able to help shape the future for all our union members at our workplace. It is also a privilege to be a representative for my workmates at the convention, and it is my duty to get all the information needed and bring it back to share at work. This term I want another pay rise, because the cost of living is still going up. I'm supporting the United For You ticket because this is the ticket that is all about the members.

Michelle De Genaro

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I'm a UWU member and workplace delegate in Western Australia. I joined UWU to be more informed, to stand united for better pay and conditions, respect and job security, and to have support if and when I need it. Being part of UWU allows me to be part of the change, to give people in my sector collective bargaining power and a platform to move forward in unity and make a positive impact for today and into the future. Outside of work, I have a lot of hobbies including arts and crafts like crochet, sewing and painting, veggie gardening, singing and travelling. I also enjoy watching documentaries, checking out museums, and listening to true stories on audiobooks while pottering around doing things.

  • I'm standing for election as a convention delegate to be a voice for fellow members, to learn more about the UWU and its processes, to be more actively involved in building strength and unity, and to fuel my passion as a delegate. I believe in a union that fights for its members, and I'm proud to be part of that change.

Joan Stewart

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 25 years, and I work at SSBN:BF, Shoalwater Early Childhood Centre as a Special Needs Education Assistant. My current union roles include EBA Delegate. A union delegate advised me to join when I first began working with SPER in behaviour. He told me the union will have your back when you need help, and that's exactly what I've found. Being a union member means safety, unity, belonging to a wider group, and connection. I have three adult children, one daughter and two sons. I enjoy bushwalking, cryptic crosswords, and travelling. I've played, umpired, and coached netball for many years. I'm a passionate union member, very approachable, and will try to help whenever I can.

  • Working on the EBA, the United Workers Union helped negotiate a fair and equitable financial gain. UWU ensured the benefits we had previously won were not sacrificed. That is what a strong union does. I'm standing for election so I can cast my vote towards the right people who will make the best leaders in UWU. What I want to achieve this term is a voice for Education. I'm supporting United For You to ensure strong leadership in UWU.

Thinley Chozom

Carer, Aged Care | Western Australia South

  • I work at Baptistcare, Margaret River, in aged care as a Care Partner. I am a union member. I joined the union because the union helps make sure our rights are respected and that we are treated fairly in the workplace. Being a union member means knowing there is support if something goes wrong. I enjoy social volunteering and community gatherings. One thing I want members to know about me is that I'm passionate about being a voice for those around me.

  • When issues around workload and conditions were raised at our workplace, the union supported staff and worked to find solutions. That showed me what the union is really there for. I'm standing for election because I care about improving working conditions and supporting fair outcomes for everyone. This term I want to achieve a conducive working environment and a good, safe workplace culture. I spend time in community service and programs outside of work, and I am supportive and forthcoming in times of need. I'm supporting United For You because I have seen them as one of the best with their ideology, and it is going to benefit aged care workers and more.

Sonam Peldon

Carer, Aged Care | Western Australia South

  • I work in aged care and am a proud UWU member. I joined the union because I understood its importance during times of personal difficulties in the workplace. At that time, I felt the importance and joined. Being a union member means being safe and knowing your rights, and being a responsible worker. I spend time in community service and programs. I am supportive and very forthcoming in times of need.

  • During a shift and contract change that happened without proper notice, we found the union being active and effective in finding solutions. That moment showed me how important it is to have a strong union on your side. I'm standing for election because I am aware of the importance of this election and its consequences.

I'm supporting United For You because I trust the team to continue to deliver for aged care workers.

Rob Sheehy

UWU Coordinator Aged Care | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 5 years, and I work as a Coordinator of Aged Care. Being part of the union means you can help ensure you are treated fairly at work and have a say on important issues. Unions make the world a better place. To me, being a union member means being part of a movement that has made Australia a good place to live, where everyone is treated with respect and there are consequences when employers do the wrong thing. Outside of work, I have a wife, three kids, and a Kelpie. I'm very good at fishing and dancing. One thing I want members to know about me is that I believe in the power of UWU members.

  • We brought about the Aged Care Royal Commission. This saved thousands of people from hardship and an early death. That is what members can achieve when they stand together. I'm standing for election so the UWU continues to focus on the important issues facing workers, is open to trying new things, and delivers for UWU members. This term I want more outcomes for members, including safer workplaces, secure jobs, fair workloads, secure sponsorship, and transparent government funding. United For You is the only ticket committed to delivering real outcomes for members, and that is why I'm supporting it.

Ramona Timpani

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for under two years, and I work at College Row School as a Lead Education Assistant. I currently serve as a Union Delegate. I joined the union to fight for better working conditions, pay rises, safety in the workplace, and to have a say and voice in my future and for my colleagues. Being a union member means I can support my colleagues and ensure our voice is heard by the Education Department. Without the union we would not have the achievements we have today. My family is in Victoria but I live and work in WA. I have a loving husband and three devilish chihuahuas. I love to travel, especially overseas. I'm very passionate when I believe in something and devote my time and resources to it, and this is definitely something I believe in.

  • Permanency is the biggest win to date for myself and my colleagues. Having that job security has allowed them to safeguard their future and buy a house. That kind of outcome is what shows you the union is worth fighting for. I'm standing in this election to ensure our union is transparent, honest, and focused on our members, a members-led union where our voice is heard at the top to fight for us now and in the future. This term I want another category in the EBA for Lead EAs to be recognised at a higher pay level, due to the higher workload and responsibilities above all other EAs, yet we are paid the same. I believe in United For You. I stand with the nominees for the United For You ticket. They have the same values as I have and are fighting for what I believe in, using all resources available to benefit members.

Rachel Kemp

Home Economics Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 14 years, and I work at Cape Naturaliste College as a Home Economics Assistant. I currently serve as a Workplace Delegate. My family have always been members and supporters of the union. I believe in what the union stands for and I think unions are invaluable to workers. Although I like my job and where I work, I feel it's essential to have the safety net of an organisation working for my rights. Being a union member means having a voice and having somewhere to go with any concerns or queries. It especially means being connected to other workers in my sector, and being part of a group that is always working together to maintain and improve our own rights and conditions. I'm a mother of five and grandmother of two. I live in Busselton and love the lifestyle. I'm a Dockers fan and love to watch all AFL games. I also enjoy walking my dog, gardening, and reading. I believe that solutions can be fair, equitable, and peaceful.

  • I have seen members be able to access hard-won rights, like study leave, after being initially refused. With knowledge of our rights and the help of delegates and organisers, issues get addressed rather than swept under the carpet, and the power balance gets evened up. That is what a strong union looks like in practice. I'm passionate about fairness in the workplace and about equipping people with knowledge about their pay, conditions, and entitlements. I'm keen to be part of the national conversation, and I'm standing for election to make sure we build a strong, united, and effective union that members can trust in, so that the precious money they spend on dues is worth it. I'm supporting United For You to be a voice from Western Australia and make sure all members' voices are heard. I want a unified union that is transparent and trustworthy, with members being the number one priority.

Mel O'Neil

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for 13 years, and I work at Cape Naturaliste College as an Education Assistant specialising in Special Needs Braille. I currently serve as a delegate. I first joined the union for job security. I also wanted clarification on some things I was being told by administration at the time, and I believe having a union backing the little guy is very important so we don't get walked all over. Being a union member means safety, being part of a group, strength in numbers, and a voice. I'm a single mother of five children, buying my home on only my wage. I occasionally do support work to supplement my EA income. I'm a beach lover, always outdoors, and love attending live music. I try to support the community wherever possible through sports, breakfast clubs, community garden, and festivals. I care and I'm passionate about achieving the best outcomes for our members.

  • A few years ago I was asked to learn Braille to support a visually impaired student. It took me two years to complete that qualification. After a year's leave, I came back to find someone untrained in Braille supporting that same student. When I was asked to step back into the role, I asked whether my qualification could be recognised at a higher pay level. With the union's help in navigating that conversation with administration, I was finally able to secure the higher pay. That experience is exactly why I'm standing for election. I want to stand up for our rights and I don't want to lose any of the things we've fought so hard to secure here in WA. I want to show members that the precious money they spend on union dues is worth it. I'm supporting United For You to be heard and counted so we get treated fairly, because we've fought too hard to lose the wins we have.

Mary Jane Belleza

Carer, Aged Care | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member since 2015, and I work in aged care. I currently serve as a delegate. I joined the union because the union will help you fight. They are there if you are in trouble. Knowing you're not alone and being united in voice is what it's all about. Being a union member means solidarity and a united voice. We are all in one, and one fight means we go together. Outside of work, I'm married with two kids. My daughter is an RN, 24 years old, and my son is 17 and now studying engineering technology. My husband is a manager in an engineering company. Myself and my family are from the Philippines. We are involved in the Filipino community, go to church, and attend community events as a family. My hobby is karaoke. I have worked at Bethanie for 11 years and been a union delegate for 9 years. I was involved from the very beginning of our aged care campaign, Our Turn To Care, back in 2017. I've been involved in the Burgundy Wave. I've seen our wage increase after years of work. I've met Bill Shorten and seen the value of political organising for aged care.

  • When union members feel safe, you are confident and know your rights. Union power makes a big difference. Through our union we raised an issue of bullying collectively with our manager, which caused investigation. We became powerful by having our CEO and a politician visit our workplace because of our campaign. All members need to know the story of aged care. From the very start our actions led to this win. I'm standing for election because this is an important convention for the future of our union and I want to stand up for aged care. This term I want a strong union that continues to run strong campaigns in aged care. I'm also passionate about making sure our union has a strong member rights team and will support us with individual as well as collective issues, and our rights at work. Because I am a faithful and loyal unionist who has seen how union power works. From the start until the end, being united means we are one. United For You is what we stand for.

Rochelle McCreaghan

Education Assistant | Western Australia South

  • I've been a UWU member for around 15 years, and I work at Australind Senior High School as an Education Assistant. I serve as a delegate for my school. I first joined the union because I was encouraged to by my colleagues at the time, and I'm grateful I did because I've been assisted a few times with issues in the workplace. I love having the support and such an amazing team backing both myself and my colleagues. We've achieved so much as a collective and I'm proud to be a part of that. Outside of work I have two children, one is 28 and the other 24. I have a beautiful 2-year-old grandson who I adore. I do ballroom dancing, which I love, and have completed a few medals with many more to come. I have a lovely partner of four years and am about to renovate my home, which is both exciting and daunting. I'm a caring, strong-willed person who is passionate about the things that are important to me and will always try to stand up for those in need.

  • A few years back I had a run-in with my principal. With the full support of the member rights team I felt better standing my ground, and in the end I won my battle. Even though it was hard, I stood strong to show others that it can be done and we don't need to put up with unfair treatment from anyone. I was honoured to be asked to stand as a delegate by my organiser and I'm always interested in learning all I can to assist my fellow workers. This term I've encouraged new staff to become members and I'm keeping everyone updated on the upcoming round of bargaining. I believe in what United For You stands for, and that is why I'm supporting this ticket.

Kinzang Choden

Carer, Aged Care | Western Australia South

  • I work in aged care as a Carer. The union helps make sure our rights are respected and that we are treated fairly in the workplace, and that's why I joined. Being a union member means knowing there is support if something goes wrong. I love taking my kids out on holidays. I can fight for everyone's rights.

  • When issues around workload and conditions were raised, the union supported staff and worked to find solutions. That difference meant everything to me. I'm standing for election because I care about improving working conditions and supporting fair outcomes for everyone. This term I want to achieve members' rights and support for all. United For You have always supported us, and that's why I'm backing this ticket.

Rory Albert

Casino Worker | Western Australia South

  • I work as a Dealer at Crown Casino Perth, where I serve as a Delegate. I believe we have rights and need to be treated fairly in the workplace, which is why I joined the union. Being a union member means standing up for yourself and others around you and having each other's back. I enjoy cooking by following videos from my favourite influencers online. I also like to learn new languages and am currently practising Chinese and Russian. I am ready to go kick some goals so let's do this together.

  • The union made a difference through the long list of wins we have achieved through bargaining, especially taking action in 2019 on Melbourne Cup day and getting a better pay rise. I am standing for election to ensure we have a strong union moving forward in the right direction for members' interests. I want to achieve more organisers and better equipped delegates to fight and win permanently for members. I am supporting United For You because I want to get this union back on track and run properly where we all support each other.

Jessica Mills

Enrolled Nurse | Western Australia South

  • I have been a UWU member for 8 years and work as an Enrolled Nurse at WA Country Health, Albany Health Campus. I serve as a Member and Workplace Delegate and have been at the bargaining table for the last 2 negotiations. Being a union member means knowing someone has my back if my employer tries something shady and being able to show up and support fellow members to make positive changes to the industry working conditions and pay. Strength in numbers. I'm a general geek into video games, anime, K-pop, fantasy books, table top role playing games and board games. My hair is normally blue.

  • I am standing for election to advocate for health workers particularly in the regions and rural areas as we have a different experience than metro health workers and face different hurdles, especially the isolation of working in WA country. My hospital catchment spans 39 thousand square kilometres. Working in health impacts our ability for industrial action as striking can lead to deaths, so showing how we work in the background to influence and change public sector for better outcomes for members is important to me. I want to keep the Members Rights team operating to provide support to those who need it, especially those in the regions and rural areas. I am supporting United For You as part of their goal is continuing the Members Rights team which allows isolated practitioners and members a point of contact and support.

Kinga Wangmo

Carer, Aged Care | Western Australia South

  • I work in the Aged Care industry in WA South. I joined the union to have support and protection at work. I wanted to be part of a group that stands together to improve workers' rights and working conditions. Being a union member means having a voice, supporting each other, and working together to make our workplace fair and safe. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and being involved in my community. I am approachable, hardworking, and always willing to support others.

  • The union helped when workers had concerns about working conditions. They listened to us and supported us so our issues could be addressed properly. I want to represent my fellow members, share their concerns, and help make positive changes for workers. I want to support members' voices and help improve fair working conditions for everyone. I believe in unity, fairness, and working together to support all members, which is why I am supporting United For You.

Donna Campbell

Patient Support Worker | Western Australia South

  • I have been a UWU member for 5 years and work as a Patient Support Worker at Albany Health Campus, where I serve as a Union Delegate. Having never been in a union throughout my working history, I decided to join due to management not dealing with issues at my workplace. It then became apparent other members were being suppressed and needed a voice, so I also became a delegate. Being a union member means having support with issues that are not being addressed by management, knowing the correct paths to deal with issues, and knowing there is someone there if issues are validated and need addressing. I'm a single mum of three adult children who are my world. My extended family and friends are diverse with age, social demographic and nationalities which makes my community vast. I enjoy op shopping and the beach. My dachshunds (sausage dogs) also keep me busy and happy.

  • I am standing for election because I believe my input will be based not just on my opinion but on other members' benefits. I stand true with assertive confidence. I stand for members who feel overwhelmed by management's actions and policies. The responsibility of the leaders is how the union facilitates and benefits all the members, and that's why I am supporting United For You.
